Myrtis Winn Cope

Mrs. Myrtis Winn Cope, 93 of Varnville died Thursday morning, April 13, 2023 at her residence.

Mrs. Cope was born December 13, 1929 in Nixville, a daughter of the late Barney Elliott Winn Sr. and Marie Ginn Winn. She was a Homemaker all her life and loved Flowers and Digging in her Flower Bed. She was a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church.

Surviving are:  sons Don Cope of Hampton, and Fred Cope of Varnville; Daughters:  Mary Ann Walling of Sumter and Marie Samoros and husband Thomas of Greer. There are six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Cope was predeceased by her husband, Roger Cope and had been married for 73 years.

Funeral services will be 3 P. M. Sunday in the Hopewell Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Paul Atkinson and Rev. D.W. Feaster, with burial in the Thames Cemetery near Varnville, and directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home.

The family suggests that those who wish may send memorials to the Alzheimer's Association or the Charity of your choice.

Visitation will begin at the church at 2 P. M. prior to the services.
