Michael Everett Simmons

Mr. Michael Everett Simmons, 56, of Country Club Road in Hampton died Monday in the Medical University Hospital in Charleston.

Mr. Simmons was born May 16, 1962 in Hampton, a son of Judy Herndon Simmons and the late Bernard Everett Simmons.  He was a welder and had worked with his father at the family welding shop in Hampton.

Surviving besides his mother of Hampton are:  sons:  Michael Simmons of Hampton and Christopher Simmons of Brunson; daughter:  Becky Blocker of Brunson;  and a sister:  Sherry Ann Mixson of Grays.  There are three grandchildren:  Hunter, Liam and Lucas Blocker.  He was predeceased by his wife, Joanne Simmons.

Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Thursday in the Chapel of Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home conducted by Elder Robert Dobson with burial in the Johnson-St. Paul Cemetery in Hampton.

Visitation will begin at 2:00 PM Thursday at the Funeral Home prior to the services.
