Michael M. Reeves, Jr.

Michael McSherry Reeves Jr., 69, a proud resident of Yemassee, South Carolina and devoted husband of Lisa Powell Reeves, passed away unexpectedly on June 9, 2026, at his residence.

Born on February 27, 1957, Michael was the son of the late Michael McSherry Reeves, Sr. and the late Annie Mae Youmans Reeves. He attended Patrick Henry Academy and will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. For nearly 50 years, he shared a loving and devoted marriage with his beloved wife, Lisa Reeves.

A skilled carpenter, Michael took great pride in his craftsmanship and the lasting work he created. Though an accident later in life ended his career, his determination, strong work ethic, and pride in a job well done remained defining qualities.

Michael was known for his kind heart, generous spirit, and ability to make others feel welcome. He loved his family deeply, was always ready to lend a helping hand, and never met a stranger for long.

Proud to call Yemassee home, Michael enjoyed sports, golf, and fishing, a lifelong passion. He treasured time spent outdoors with family and friends, sharing stories, laughter, and life's simple joys. His warm smile, sense of humor, and love for those around him will be remembered by all who knew him.

Despite recent health challenges, Michael's passing came as a shock to those who loved him. While his family grieves the loss of time they hoped to share, they are grateful for the many years of love, laughter, and memories he gave them.

Though deeply missed, Michael is now at peace. His kindness, strength, and enduring love will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

Michael was preceded in death by his mother, Annie Mae Reeves; his sister, Frances Kay Reebe; and his father, Michael McSherry Reeves Sr., affectionately known to his grandchildren as "Popeye."

He is survived by his loving wife, Lisa Reeves; his daughter, Michelle Kelley and her husband, Jonathan Kelley; his son, Michael Reeves and his longtime partner, Kelley Connolly; his beloved grandchildren, Jasmine Kelley, Jonathan Kelley Jr., Liora Kelley, Isabella, Sophia, and Michael "Lil Michael," all of whom lovingly knew him as "Poppop"; his sister, Sherry Ann Reeves Schott and her husband, Lemi Schott; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss him deeply.

He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.
