Mary Jane Crapse

Mrs. Mary Jane Benton Crapse of Savannah Highway in Furman, died Wednesday night in the Hampton Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Crapse was born May 14, 1948 in Hampton County, a daughter of the late Jake and Loreen Bowers Benton.  She had retired after 25 years of service as a Dietitian at the Estill Middle School.  She was a member of the Landmark Baptist Church and loved spending time with her family.

Surviving are:  Sons:  Roy Vance Crapse and wife Robin of Furman, and Lee Crapse and wife Tina of Early Branch;  Daughter:  Donna Gaymon and husband Darrell of Ridgeland;  Brother:  Bartow Benton and wife Darlene of Fairfax;  Sisters:  Lizzie Mason of Rincon, Georgia, Linda Oxindine and husband Nick of Allendale, Alma Edwards and husband Willie of Port Wentworth, Georgia, and Margaret Boutwell of North Carolina.  There are 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.  Mrs. Crapse was predeceased by her husband Roy Vernon Crapse, 3 brothers and 1 sister.

Graveside services will be 11 A.M. Saturday in the Nixville Baptist Church Cemetery, directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 8 P.M. at Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home located at 300 Mulberry Street West in Hampton.
