Mrs. Martha Powers Johnson, 76, of Savannah, formerly of Reidsville, Georgia, died Wednesday in the Thunderbolt Transitional Nursing Home in Savannah after an extended illness.
Mrs. Johnson was born February 13, 1942 in Boston, Massachusetts, a daughter of the late Arthur and Dorothy Powers. She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Surviving are: sons: Mark Aiken Johnson of Hartford, Alabama and Tim Allen Johnson and wife Melanie of Walterboro; two brothers; John Powers and wife Kathy of Florida and Kevin Powers and wife Pat of Massachusetts; special cousins: Frank and Judy Sullivan of Savannah; sisters-in-law: Miriam J. Holley of Brunson, Catherine Grooms of Prosperity, Margie Crews of Luray and Sandra J. Browning of Brunson; 4 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Mrs. Johnson was predeceased by: her husband: James Johnson; Son: James "Jimmy" Johnson; daughter: Laura Ann Johnson; and a granddaughter: Jennifer Lauren Johnson.
Memorial services will be Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 1:00 PM at the Luray Christian Church conducted by Rev. Noel Cooper and directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home in Hampton.
Visitation will be immediately following the services at the Church.
