Marie Jarrell

Mrs. Marie Bessie Platts Jarrell, 93, widow of William Everett Jarrell died Thursday morning, December 24, 2020 at Hampton Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Jarrell was born July 7, 1927 in Hampton County, the daughter of the late George Cromer Platts and Marie Barnes Platts.  She was a graduate of Brunson High School.  She retired with 17 years of service to Allendale Primary as the lunchroom manager.  She was loved by the faculty, staff and children.  She was greatly loved and respected by her children, family and friends and  will always be remembered by her nieces and nephews as "Aunt Tea".  There were close friends who would tease her and called her "Aunt Teabug".  She was a member of Brunson Baptist Church and attended Hickory Grove Church.  She was loved by all.

She is survived by her daughter: Sylvia Murdaugh (Lawrence) of Brunson; son:  Dennis Jarrell (Cindy) of Jacksonboro; grandchildren:  Kevin Murdaugh (Amy) and Sean Murdaugh (Tina); and great-grandchildren:  Mariah Murdaugh and Grace Murdaugh.  Mrs. Jarrell was predeceased by one grandson, Bryan Murdaugh: one great-grandson, Justin Murdaugh; and three sisters, Marion Cone, Edna Westbury and Doris Collins.

The family would also like to extend a special thanks to the staff of LowCountry Assisted Living in Ehrhardt, SC.

A family graveside service will be held 3 PM, Sunday, December 27, 2020 at Brunson Cemetery conducted by Rev. R.P. Hodge and directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home.
