Margaret Gooding

Mrs. Margaret Sauls Gooding, 89, of Sanford, North Carolina, formerly of Miley, South Carolina, died Tuesday evening, May 18, 2021 in Westfield Nursing Facility in Sanford.

Mrs. Gooding was born June 24, 1931 in Colleton County, a daughter of the late Charlie and Anna Sauls.  She had worked with the Hampton County Department of Social Services and was a member of Sandy Run Baptist Church.

Surviving is her daughter, Susette Taylor and husband Glenn of Sanford, North Carolina; granddaughter, Meaghan Fant and husband Chris of Cincinnati, Ohio; and a great-grandson, Landon.  Mrs. Gooding was predeceased by her husband, Jesse Ralph Gooding.

Graveside services will be 2 PM Friday, May 21, 2021 in the Crocketville Cemetery conducted by Rev. Dr. Tommy Kelly and directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home.

Friends may visit with the family immediately following the service at the cemetery.
