Louise Ulmer

Mrs. Mary Louise Lightsey Ulmer, 81, of Nix Street in Brunson, died Thursday morning, August 6, 2020 in the Pruitt Health Care Facility in Estill.

Mrs. Ulmer was born August 9, 1938 in Varnville, a daughter of the late Robert G. Lightsey, Sr. and Florence Irene Tuten Lightsey.  She was the lunchroom manager at Brunson Elementary School where she retired after 30 years of service.  Mrs. Ulmer was a member of Brunson United Methodist Church.

Surviving is her husband:  E. George Ulmer, Sr. of Brunson; sons:  Dr. Enoch G. Ulmer, Jr. (Joan) of Laurens, Richard A. Ulmer (Beverly) of Brunson, D. Kevin Ulmer (Kolleen) of Chapin and Gregory S. Ulmer (Dana) of Simpsonville; sisters:  Helen Johnson of Fairfax and Virginia Smith of Grays; brothers:  Robert Lightsey, Jr., Charles Lightsey and Laverne Lightsey, all of Hampton; 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.  Mrs. Ulmer was predeceased by a sister, Betty Overstreet.

Graveside services will be 11 am Sunday in the Brunson Cemetery conducted by Rev. Carol Holladay and directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home in Hampton.

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 am at Brunson United Methodist Church.
