Mrs. LouBell Boone Simmons, 62, of Hoover Street in Hampton died Sunday in the Medical University Hospital in Charleston after an extended illness.

Mrs. Simmons was born September 2, 1956 in Charleston County, a daughter of the late Daniel and Alice Port Boone.  She worked in the Maintenance Department at Beach & Beach Laundromat and Brunson Laundry.  She was the widow of Donald Simmons.

Surviving are:  son:  John Simmons and wife Bernae of Brunson;  daughter:  Alice May Simmons and companion Robert Wilson of Hampton;  brothers:  Eddie Martin of Batesburg, Robert Bazzle of Summerville, Raymond and Michael Hendrix of Pickens;  sisters:  Susie Sharpe of Wala Wala, Washington, Betsy Hendrix of Pickens, and Louise Leslie of Nixville;  grandchildren:  Jonathan Thomas, Sherriann Padgett, Torri, Adalida, Khloe and Mason Simmons;  and one great-grandchild:  Bryton Padgett.  Mrs. Simmons was predeceased by a son:  Donald Roy Simmons, Jr.; and a brother:  Daniel Boone, Jr.

Graveside services will be 2 PM Wednesday in the Johnson-St. Paul Cemetery in Hampton directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home in Hampton.

Visitation will be Wednesday prior to the services beginning at 12 noon at the Funeral Home located at 300 Mulberry Street West in Hampton.
