Lloyd Franklin Reid

Mr. Lloyd Franklin Reid, 65, resident of Satterwhite Street in Whitmire, SC, died Monday afternoon, July 29, 2024, at Select Specialty Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi.

Born January 28, 1959, in Hampton, South Carolina, Franklin was the son of the late Peter Donald Reid, Sr. and Edna Ruth Long Reid. He previously worked as a lumber mill supervisor where he worked very hard taking pride in all he did. Mr. Reid was an avid hunter who liked to enjoy life. His most important role was being "Pappy" to his beautiful grandchildren who he loved and adored greatly.

Mr. Reid is survived by his loving wife; Tonia Mock Reid, of Whitmire; his two daughters: Taylor Reid Bell and her husband Matthew, and Alyssa Reid both of Whitmire; his two grandchildren: Skylar Bell and Noah Bell both of Whitmire; his three brothers: Larry Reid and his wife Dorothy of Barnwell; Kenneth Reid and his wife Leona of Barnwell, and Johnny Reid and his wife Patricia of Barnwell; his three sisters: Patricia Ann Reid Brant of Ulmer; Brenda Reid Thames and her husband Ray of Fairfax, and Sandra Reid of Hampton; his sister-in-law: Ivy Reid of Estill, and a plethora of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his beloved parents, Mr. Reid was predeceased in death by a brother, Peter Donald Reid, Jr.

Funeral service will be held 2 PM, Friday, August 2, 2024, in the Chapel of Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home with burial to immediately follow in the Hampton Cemetery located on Holly Street East, Hampton, SC 29924.

A visitation will begin at 1 PM, Friday, August 2, 2024 prior to services in the Chapel lasting until the hour of service.
