Mrs. Lisa Carol Smith Hadwin, 65, resident of Nix Street in Brunson, wife of William Dale Hadwin, passed away early Monday morning, April 13, 2026, at her residence.
Born July 22, 1960, in Hampton General Hospital, Mrs. Hadwin was the daughter of Joseph Edwin "Jake" Smith and Lanice Carolyn Bennett Smith. She was a graduate of Wade Hampton High School in Varnville and worked for 22 years at Helena Agri-Enterprises as Office Manager. Mrs. Hadwin loved decorating and enjoyed native American culture and relics. She and her husband notably collected many arrowheads and other artifacts over the years which she was quite proud of.
Surviving are her parents, Jake and Carolyn Smith of Hampton; her husband, Dale Hadwin of Brunson; her son, Russell Smith of Maryland; her daughters, Shanna Smith Godley (Shelby) of Varnville and Amber Hadwin Sinclair (Bricen) of Brunson; her four grandchildren: Dylan Smith, Payton Smith, Randa Godley, and Colby Godley, as well as two great-grandchildren, Jack Smith and Jayce Lewis. There are also many other extended relatives and friends who survive.
Funeral Services will be 11 AM Thursday, April 16, 2026, in the Chapel of Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home conducted by Rev. R.P. Hodge. Burial will follow in the Varnville Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 10 AM and last until the hour of the service at the funeral home located at 300 Mulberry St. W., Hampton, SC 29924.
Pallbearers will be Randy Hadwin, Charles Hadwin, Ronald Collier, Michael Collier, Scottie Cook, Donald Murdaugh, and Nanthaniel Henninger.
Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home is assisting the Hadwin family during this time.
