Linda Jarrell Shaffer

Mrs. Linda Ann Jarrell Shaffer, 78, resident of Bamberg Highway in Hampton, died Monday, October 14, 2024 at Savannah Memorial Health after an extended illness, surrounded by her loving family.

Born September 9, 1946, Mrs. Shaffer was the only daughter of the late William Clyde Jarrell, Sr. and Annie Chesser Jarrell. She worked over 37 years in banking retiring as the Operations Manager at BB&T in Hampton. Mrs. Shaffer also worked at the Hampton Museum for many years. She was a compassionate person who will be remembered for the love she had for her family especially her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She will also be remembered as a great southern cook.

Mrs. Shaffer was a devoted member of Hampton Primitive Baptist Church and was a member of the Hampton County Chamber of Commerce.

Surviving are her husband, Ralph Shaffer of the home; her children, Chris Shaffer (April) of Estill, Cindy Bowers (Kevin) of Hampton, and Ty Shaffer of Hampton; her six grandchildren: Ryan Shaffer (Franklin), Sydni Shaffer (Quinn), Kristina Tuten (Clint), Blake Bowers (Erika), Drew Bowers (Ingrid), and Morgan Shaffer; her seven adored great-grandchildren:  Noah, Elijah, Summer, Ivy, Lily, Liam, and Luke; two brothers: George "Sonny" Jarrell (Norma) and Francis Jarrell (Polly), and a sister-in-law, Linda Kay Jarrell.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Shaffer is predeceased by two brothers, Clyde "Nig" Jarrell, Jr. (Mary Ann) and Lavern "Tuda" Jarrell.

Funeral Services will be held 11 AM Thursday, October 17, 2024 in the Chapel of Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home conducted by Elder Robert Dobson, Elder Paul Tuten, and Elder Terrell Harvey. Burial will follow in the St. Paul Cemetery.

A visitation will be held from 5 PM – 7 PM Wednesday evening, October 16, 2024 at Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home located at 300 Mulberry St. W., Hampton, SC 29924.
