Linda Mixson

Mrs. Linda Jones Mixson, 74, of North Main Street in Brunson, died Friday afternoon, October 30, 2020 at her residence after an extended illness.

Mrs. Mixson was born December 3, 1945 in Savannah, Georgia, a daughter of the late William Jones and Elizabeth Davis Jones Wirth.  She had retired from Westinghouse Corporation in Hampton after over 40 years of service.  Mrs. Mixson had devoted her time to her family and anyone in need.

Surviving are her grandchildren:  Joshua Evans and wife Fallon of Hampton and Chasity Evans of Ridgeland; great-grandchildren:  Joshua, Brady, Hunter and Carson; sisters:  Dianne Jones Williams and husband Paul of Hampton, Julie Jones Rogers and husband Clay of Hilton Head and Leigh Johnson and husband Ted of Morehead City, North Carolina; brother:  Marvin Jones and wife Merri of Mountain City, Tennessee; son-in-law:  Donald Evans of Estill and a number of nieces and nephews.  Mrs. Mixson was predeceased by her husband James Ronald Mixson and her daughter Amanda Mock Evans.

Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 7 PM at Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home located at 300 Mulberry Street West in Hampton.

The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Varnville Baptist Church Children and Youth Fund, PO Box 306, Varnville, SC 29944.
