Lib Goettee

Mrs. Elizabeth "Lib" Mills Goettee, 85, died Tuesday evening, December 22, 2020 in Columbia, SC.

Mrs. Goettee was born August 25, 1935 in Hampton, the daughter of the late David and Luelle Cook Mills.  She was a graduate of Asbury University in Wilmore, KY, obtained her Master's Degree from the University of South Carolina and taught school for forty years.  She loved her students and they loved her.  Mrs. Lib was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and was a member of Hampton United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her only son, Homer Allen Goettee, Jr. and wife Lynn Murdaugh Goettee; three grandchildren:  Mills, Trey and Reeves; and a brother:  Dr. Francis A. Mills and wife Beverly.  There are numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.  She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Homer Allen Goettee.

A family graveside service will be held at 3 PM Sunday, December 27, 2020 at Hampton Cemetery directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home.
