Lawrence Richard Edwards

VARNVILLE:  Mr. Lawrence Richard Edwards of Harris Loop in Varnville, died Saturday evening in the Sprenger Health Care Facility in Beaufort, after an extended illness. Mr. Edwards was born December 29, 1947  in Effingham County, Georgia a son of the late Lawrence Watson Edwards and Lelia Brauda Edwards. He was a Farmer, enjoyed Fishing, Sports and watching old Westerns. He was a Vietnam Marine Veteran.

Surviving are; Daughter: Melissa Ann Armstrong and Husband Timothy of Varnville; Brothers: Ronnie Edwards of Springfield, Georgia and Mitchell Edwards of Newington, Georgia; and a Sister: Diane Green of Travelers Rest, S.C.;  Grandchildren: Samantha Leavens and Husband Michael, Amanda Armstrong, and Timothy Armstrong Jr.; and one great grandchild, Sawyer Leavens; and many nieces and nephews.  There is a Close Friend, Patricia Cassidy.

Predeceased by: Sister: Elizabeth Browers and husband Leroy Browers.

Funeral Services will be 11 A.M. Saturday in the chapel of Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home, located at 300 Mulberry Street West in Hampton, with Military Honors.

Private burial will take place at the Corinth Baptist Church, in Shawnee, Georgia.

Visitation will immediately follow the services at the Chapel Saturday.
