Laverne Homer Williams

Mr. Laverne Homer Williams, 84, resident of Crocketville, passed away at his home on August 30, 2024.

Mr. Williams was born April 09, 1940, in Orangeburg, SC to the late Homer Lee Williams and Rena Ayer Williams. He was retired from his farm and livestock operation, which he maintained for almost 68 years.  In 1972, Mr. Williams was recognized as the Outstanding Young Farmer of the Year for Hampton County. He was married to the late Carolyn DeLoach Williams.

Surviving are his daughters:  Tammy Shaffer of Hampton and Melissa (Robert) Meeks of Cave Springs, GA; his grandchildren:  Brian (April) Shaffer of Early Branch, Jennifer (Ricky) Madura, Jessica (Jamie) Cook, Shannon Shaffer (Nick), and Gina Brooke Shaffer (Everette), all of Hampton;  his great grandchildren:  Caroline Grace Cook, Ashton Brady Madura, Justin Hunter Cook, Ashlynn Bailey Madura, Karlie Ann Kinard, Owen Aubrey Shaffer, Lily Reese Bowers and Sheldon Rylee Ginn; and lifelong best friend, George Padgett of Crocketville.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his loving wife, Carolyn DeLoach Williams, and his son-in-law, Gene Shaffer.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM, Monday, September 02, 2024, in the Chapel of Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home, with burial in the Sandy Run Cemetery, conducted by Elder Robert Dobson.

A visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at the funeral home located at 300 Mulberry Street West, Hampton, South Carolina.

Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home is assisting the Williams family during this time.
