Lauren Breland

Ms. Lauren Breland, 55, of Mt. Carmel Road in Estill, passed away Saturday, August 3, 2024, at Memorial Health Hospital in Savannah, Georgia.

Born June 3, 1969, in Hampton County, Lauren was the daughter of William Henry "Bill" Breland and Patricia "Patsy" Cook Fennell.  She was a graduate of Patrick Henry Academy and attended the University of South Carolina, Salkehatchie. Lauren worked for years babysitting and caring for children in the area.  She loved her job and had a special bond with each child she cared for over the years. Lauren loved photography, scrapbooking, and will be remembered by family and friends for her amazing crafting abilities.

She was a member of Varnville First Baptist Church where she was active in many church activities but especially with the children and youth who she often went on church trips with.

Surviving are her father:  Bill Breland of Estill; mother and stepfather: Patsy and Howard Fennell of Estill; her adored children:  Gleason Cooke and his fiancé Tia and Anna-Lee Cooke both of Estill; her sister: Stephanie Breland of Estill, and her beloved pet: Widbey.  She is also survived by the many children she kept and loved as her own over the years as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral Services will be held 11 AM, Thursday, August 8, 2024, in the Varnville First Baptist Church located at 165 E. Palmetto Ave., Varnville, SC 29944 conducted by Rev. Dr. Tommy Kelly. Burial will follow in the Mt. Carmel Methodist Church Cemetery.

A visitation will be held from 5 PM – 7 PM Wednesday evening, August 7, 2024, at Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home located at 300 Mulberry St. W., Hampton, SC 29924.

The family asks that those who wish may send memorials to Mt. Carmel Methodist Church Cemetery.
