Laura Rose

Laura Rose went to be with The Lord on December 20, 2023 at her home in Varnville, SC. She is survived by her husband, Timothy Rose, her sons Lance, his wife Samantha and Cameron and his wife Danielle Fletcher, their father, William Fletcher, Step-Daughter Melissa Bryson, Step-Sons Christopher and Andrew Rose, sister Randy, who resides in Canada, brothers Kenneth "Cub"Mills and William "Itch" Mills, her grandson Finley, niece Julie and nephew Robbie "Bump" Mills, as well as extended family in Canada. Laura is pre-deceased by her parents William H and Evelyn K Mills.

Before moving to Varnville, Laura was a fixture in both the food and beverage and retail industries in Beaufort for decades. Her passion for baking, gardening and animals was unmatched. But her greatest service and legacy is the kindness she showed to everyone she greeted and everyone who met and knew her; be it a cocktail, assistance at JC Penney, or handing out pounds of confections to hundreds of costumed children at her annual Halloween extravaganza. Until her illness finally prevented her from doing so, Laura could be found helping serve hot meals at The Connexxion food ministry on Thursday evenings. She will be missed dearly by friends, family and strangers alike.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday January 14 at 2 pm at Open Arms Fellowship Church in Hampton, SC, with an early supper reception in the church dining hall to follow. In lieu of flowers, Laura wanted donations in her name made to local food pantries, ministries and/or animal shelters.Sunday January 14 at 2 pm
