Kenneth Henry Reid, Sr.

Mr. Kenneth Henry Reid, Sr., 72, resident of Reynolds Road in Blackville, SC, husband of Leona R. Reid, passed away Thursday afternoon, March 20, 2025, at his residence after an extended illness.

Born March 28, 1952, in Hampton County, Mr. Reid was the son of the late Peter Donald Reid, Sr. and Edna Ruth Long Reid. He worked many years as a farm mechanic, having retired from Chapel Farms after many years of faithful service. Mr. Reid was an avid fisherman, hunter, and was a proud fan of the Atlanta Braves. He also had many farm animals but most of all loved his grandchildren; spending time loving them every chance he could.

Surviving are his wife, Leona Rose Reid, of the home; his daughters: Carol Mixon of North Augusta, Ruthann Reid of Atlanta, GA, and Kimberly Heath (Ricky) of Leesville; his sons: Richard Reid (Kim) and Joey Reid (Danielle) all of Barnwell; his sisters: Patricia Brant, Brenda Thames (Ray), and Sandra Gray, his brothers: Larry Reid (Dorothy) and Johnnie Reid (Patty); and two sisters-in-law, Ivy Reid and Tonia Reid. Mr. Reid is also survived by 16 adored grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Reid was predeceased by a son, Kenneth Henry Reid, Jr., two brothers, Peter Donald Reid, Jr. and Lloyd Franklin Reid, and his beloved companion, Shadow.

Funeral Services will be held 3 PM Monday, March 24, 2025, in the Chapel of Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home located at 300 Mulberry St. W., Hampton, SC 29924. Burial will follow in the Hampton Cemetery.

A visitation will begin at 2 PM and last until the hour of service in the Chapel.

Pallbearers will be Jamie Thames, Byron Murray, Tommy Reid, Matthew Reid, Michael Reid, Daniel Reid, and Donnie Reid.

Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home is assisting the family during this time.
