Katherine Hurst Monroe

BRUNSON DATELINE:

Mrs. Mary Katherine Hurst Monroe of South Main Street in Brunson, passed away, Tuesday afternoon at her residence.

Mrs. Monroe was born March 14, 1950 in Sumter, a daughter of the late James Harold Hurst and Katherine Patricia Edens Warr.  She was a former secretary with the Parker Law Firm in Hampton, she enjoyed gardening, working with horses, and was member of the Brunson United Methodist Church in  Brunson.

Surviving are:  Her husband:  Robert Lane "Bob" Monroe of Brunson;  Daughters:  Shea M. Kinard and husband Joseph of Fairfax, and Jennifer M. Lazenby and husband Brian of Beaufort;  Sisters:  Patty Hurst and Tina Henderson both of Florence; and Grandchildren:  Drayton Kinard and wife Valorie of Hampton; Madison and Wyatt Greene and their father, Michael; and Malia, Julia and Hannah.  There are two great grandchildren:  Charlee and Carter.  She was predeceased by a brother, George Henry Hurst.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Sunday in the Brunson United Methodist Church, conducted by Rev.  Carol Holloway and directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home.
