Katherine Stone Brown

Katherine Elizabeth Stone Brown, 97, passed away peacefully April 6, 2022, in Jacksonville, Florida, her home for 70 years. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and also a gifted professional piano player and honored entertainer known throughout Jacksonville. Her funeral will be officiated by Pastor D.W. Feaster at 11:00 AM, April 11, 2022, at Hopewell Baptist Church in Hampton, SC, with burial to follow in the church cemetery and directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home. Katherine was born in Gifford, South Carolina on June 6, 1924, the sixth child of Charles A. Stone and Leila DeLoach Stone. She was married to William J. Miller, now deceased, for 24 years. She later was married to Paul Brown for 30 years until his passing. Those left to cherish her memory include her seven children, Bonnie Cherry (Jack-deceased), of West Columbia, SC; Billie Stillwell (Jeff) and Dorothy Lomas of Jacksonville, FL; William "Butch" Miller (Jhen), of Ketchikan, AK; Charles "Chuck" Miller, Alan Miller and Paulette Brown Whalen (David) of Jacksonville, FL; and one brother, Cambridge Stone of Fairfax, SC. She had seven grandchildren: Tina Robbins, Suzanne Poole, Marc Cherry, Michael Boland, Stephen Boland, Ryan Lomas and Shannon Pearce; She was blessed with many loving great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to either River Garden Hebrew Home, 11401 Old St. Augustine Road, Jacksonville, FL, 32258 or Hopewell First Baptist Church Fund, 6404 Hopewell Road, Hampton, SC, 29924.
