Judy Youmans Long

Ms. Judy Ann Youmans Long, 55, resident of Steep Bottom Road in Estill, SC, passed away Saturday, June 28, 2025, at her residence.

Born May 30, 1970, in the Hampton General Hospital, Judy was the daughter of David Perry Youmans and the late Sylvia Jean Clark Youmans. She was a graduate of Estill High School and later graduated with her master's degree in education from the University of South Carolina, which she was able to do with her strong morale and hard work ethic. Judy was a beloved part of the Patrick Henry Academy family where she taught honors math, was sponsor of the student council, and was active in nearly every activity which involved the school. She was a devoted educator who wanted to see every student succeed, tutoring many of them to ensure they were successful in their studies. Though Judy did not seek attention, her many attributes to her students and school did not go unnoticed and led her to be named SCISA Math Teacher of the Year. Judy loved her students, children, coworkers, other relatives, and will be remembered for the devotion she showed in everything she did. . . Judy was everyone's favorite.

In addition to her father, David Youmans, of Estill, Judy is survived by her sons, Scottie Long (Meredith) of Hampton and Travis Long of Estill; her sisters, Linda Youmans McDonald (Chip) of North Augusta and Amy Youmans Shaffer (Ron) of Yemassee; two special aunts, Elizabeth Christian of Hampton and Myrtle Ann Youmans of Panama City, FL; a special uncle, Arthur Youmans of Nixville, and many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, and uncles of whom she dearly loved.

She was predeceased by her mother, Sylvia Jean Clark Youmans.

Funeral Services will be 10 AM Wednesday, July 2, 2025, in the Chapel of Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home located at 300 Mulberry St. W., Hampton, SC 29924, conducted by Rev. Asbury Lawton. Burial will follow in the Lawtonville Cemetery near Estill.

A visitation will be from 5 PM – 8 PM Tuesday evening, July 1, 2025, at Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home, 300 Mulberry St. W., Hampton, SC 29924.
