Judy Breland

Mrs. Judy Elaine Pope Breland, 67, of Pine Grove Road near Walterboro, died Monday afternoon, September 13, 2021 at her residence.

Mrs. Breland was born June 3, 1954 in Hampton County, a daughter of Patricia Ruth Hiers Pope and the late Harry Richard Pope, Sr.  She was a nurse and had worked with Dr. Harrison Peeples' office in Estill.  She was a member of Yemassee Baptist Church where she was very active in the church activities.  She loved to cook and spend time at the beach.

Surviving is her husband Kirk Randal Breland of Walterboro; her daughter Denise Crowley of Ruffin; her son Brett Cooke of Ridgeville; sister Ruthie P. Schmidt and husband Charlie of Daleville, Virginia; grandchildren: Haley Crowley, Gabrielle Crowley and Lynn Smith and husband Matthew; great-grandchildren:  Carter Thames, Harper Thames and McKenna Smith;  niece Carly Oliver and husband Richie and their children Bryson and Kinley; and her mother of Hampton.  Mrs. Breland was predeceased by her father; son Brian Cooke; brothers Ricky and Louis Pope; and a sister Tina Pope.

A memorial service will be held at 10 AM Friday, September 17, 2021 at Hampton First Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Heyward Evans and directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home.

Visitation will follow at the church after the service.
