Ms. Joyce Elaine Wilson Long, 85, former resident of Silver Hill Church Road in Springfield, GA, passed away Saturday morning, September 6, 2025, at Pruitt Health in Savannah, GA.

Born January 1, 1940, in Bamberg County, Ms. Long was the daughter of the late Charles Wilson and Mary Hayden Wilson. She was a graduate of Estill High School class of 1959 and worked many years at several stores, notably as a sales associate for Sears in Orangeburg. Ms. Long enjoyed working with flowers and watching hummingbirds. Most importantly, Ms. Long was a homemaker who thoroughly enjoyed her time with family.

Ms. Long was a member of the First Baptist Church of Springfield and a former member of the Jaycee's in Estill.

Surviving are her daughters, Tamie Patnaude (Barry) of Springfield, GA, Cindy Deer (James) of Ulmer, and Robin Johnson (Robert) of Nixville; one son, Chuck Long (Joanni) of Ulmer, and one brother, Terry Wilson (Beverly) of Bamberg. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Long is predeceased by her sisters and their husbands, Alma Dempsey (Dennis), Edell Coleman (J.H.), and Jewell Pierce (Robert); a brother, Curtis Wilson, and a great-grandson, Sheldon Bevill.

Funeral Services will be 11 AM Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens located at 4830 Columbia Rd. NE, Orangeburg, SC 29118.

Visitation will be 5 PM – 7 PM Monday evening, September 8, 2025, at Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home, Hampton Chapel, located at 300 Mulberry St. W., Hampton, SC 29924.

Pallbearers will be Alan Johnson, Josh Patnaude, Trey Deer, Kyle Johnson, Wyman Long, Davis Hair, Ronnie Anderson, and Andrew Landram.

Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home is assisting the Long family during this time.
