Joyce Hall Bennett

Mrs. Joyce Hall Ginn Bennett, 78, of Standale Street in Hampton, died early Tuesday morning, June 23, 2020 in the Hampton Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Bennett was born March 5, 1942 in Hampton County, a daughter of the late Harry Eugene Hall and Lula Oregon Stanley Hall.  She had been the bookkeeper with the family business, Ginn's Garage, in Nixville.  Mrs. Bennett was a member of Nixville Baptist Church where she was a member of the choir.  She was the widow of Freddie Eugene Ginn and Harry Wendell Bennett.

Surviving is her son:  Derryl Eugene Ginn, Sr. and wife Joy of Nixville; daughters:  Ruby Annette Evans and husband Jay and Linda Louise Smoak, all of Nixville; grandchildren:  Kandi Hewlett and husband Trey, Kenny Smith and wife Chelsea, Amanda Smoak, Bryan Smoak, Derryl Ginn, Jr. and wife Tabatha and Josh Ginn and wife Katelyn;  great-grandchildren:  John Hampton, Lawson, Kennedy, Sommer, Savannah, Wyatt, Mason, Sawyer and Lillian; and sister:  Patricia Ann Nettles of Luray.  She was predeceased by two brothers:  Harry Hall, Jr. and Ezalee Hall; two sisters:  Betty Mobley and Lula Mae Blackburn; and brother-in-law:  Franklin Blackburn.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Friday in the Chapel of Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home conducted by Rev. Paul Creason and Rev. Allan Kircher with burial in the Ginn Cemetery in the Nixville community.

Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 7 PM at the Funeral Home located at 300 Mulberry Street West in Hampton.
