Joseph Carlton "Joe" Platts

Mr. Joseph Carlton "Joe" Platts, 84, of Hampton, died Wednesday evening at his residence.

Mr. Platts was born March 31, 1935 in Hampton County, a son of the late Lewis Carroll Platts and Amelia Robertson "Minnie" Platts.  He was a retired farmer and enjoyed riding his bicycle in the Hampton area visiting with his many friends in the community.

Surviving are his brother:  Lenville Carroll Platts of Hampton;  sisters:  Caroline P. Peeples and husband Cecil of Edisto and Peggy P. Ginn and husband Tommie of Hampton;  sister-in-law:  Marion Rivers Platts of Brunson; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be 2 PM Sunday in the Brunson Cemetery directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home.

Friends may visit with the family immediately following the services at the cemetery.
