John Julian Kloczkowski

Mr. John Julian Kloczkowski of Two Sisters Ferry Road near Estill, retired Marine and Minister, died early Saturday morning in the Colleton Regional Medical Center in Walterboro.

Mr. Kloczkowski was born November 9, 1932 in Yorkville, New York, a son of the late Gabriel and Catherine Kloczkowski Kloczkowski.  He had retired from the Marine Corp as a Master Sergeant and served as a Minister in the Hampton County area for many years.  During his Military career, he was a Journalist and Military Photographer serving two tours in Vietnam and one in Korea.  Prior to enlisting in the Marines, he served in the Naval Reserves and also worked for Nikon Camera Company in Tokyo, Japan.  He was a member of the American Legion Post # 108 and the V F W where he had served as Chaplain.  He was married to the late Mary Lowell Harvey Kloczkowski.

Surviving are:  Step-daughters:  Mary Lynn Griner of Lands End, Melissa Griner Healy and husband Kent of Savannah;  Brothers:  Tadeus Kloczkowski of Pine Bush, New York, Leon Kloczkowski and wife Carol of New Hartford, New York, and Matthew Kloczkowski of Cicero, New York;  and a special caregiver:   Candice Blair Hutto.  There are 4 step-grandchildren and 5 step-great-grandchildren.  John was predeceased by a brother, Edward.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 1st, from 5 to 7 PM at Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home located at 300 Mulberry Street West in Hampton.

Burial will be held at 1 PM on March 21st  in Arlington National Cemetery.
