John Albert Harrington

Mr. John Albert Harrington of Ann Street in Hampton died Saturday night at his residence.

Mr. Harrington was born December 14, 1930, in Bristol, Tennessee, a son of the late William Edward Harrington and Kathern Billups Harrington.  He and his wife, Betty Jean Hendrix Harrington moved to Hampton in 1958 to work for the Westinghouse Corporation as a Chemical Engineer and retired as Plant Manager after 38 years.  He continued to stay in touch with the company and staff giving advice and working when needed.  He also had been a Boy Scout Leader in the Hampton Community and was a Navy Veteran.

Surviving besides his wife of Hampton are:  Daughter:  Sherre Harrington of Rome, Georgia; and a granddaughter: Sarah Dryden O'Brien of Minneapolis.  Mr. Harrington was predeceased by a son:  John Kelly Harrington; and a brother:  William Earl Harrington.

A visitation will be held Tuesday afternoon from 5 to 7 P.M. at Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home located at 300 Mulberry Street West in Hampton.
