John Charles Jarrell

Mr. John Charles Jarrell of Turner Expressway in Nixville, South Carolina passed away Tuesday evening December 19, 2023 at his residence.

John was born November 28, 1948 at his home in Nixville, he was predeceased by his parents James Wesley Jarrell, Sr. and Annie Gertrude Ginn Jarrell Kersey and step-father John Paul Kersey.  John served six years in the United States Army, followed by a 33 year career at Westinghouse, later Nevamar when he retired.  John was a loyal friend and member of the Lowcountry Road Masters Motorcycle Club.  He was member of the Nixville Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Linda Gay Zahler Jarrell of Nixville, daughters, Elizabeth "Liz" Jarrell Parker and husband Chuck of Nixville, Karen Jarrell Evans and husband Chris of Birmingham, Alabama and Heather  "Nickie" Jarrell of Nixville; brother, J. W. Jarrell, Jr. and wife Carolyn of Nixville, sister, Mary Hadwin and husband Jerry of Hampton; grandchildren, Nina Marie Evans and Christina Grace Evans of Birmingham, Alabama.  Special Family Members, Jackie and Fay Rosier of Nixville, many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, as well as his grand-dogs, Xena, Axel, Bandit and Auger.  John was also predeceased by brothers, David Jarrell, Danny Hugh Jarrell and wife Georgia Ann Jarrell and a sister, Evelyn Tant and husband Gene.  John was a very humble and compassionate man to everyone he met, his greatest accomplishment was being a devoted husband and loving father.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Nixville Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Allan Kircher and Brian Toney, with burial in the Nixville Cemetery, directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home.  Visitation will be Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the residence of Mr. John Jarrell located at 1943 Turner Expressway near Nixville.
