John William Casey

Mr. John William Casey was born in New Jersey to the late James Casey and the late Elizabeth Noonan Casey.

Mr. John had a love for the outdoors that very few truly experience in a lifetime. He was a proud advocate for the preservation of nature, finding his greatest joy in the stillness of his swamp, surrounded by God's creation. As deep as his love for the outdoors ran, it was matched—and surpassed—by his love for the Lord. Mr. John never shied away from sharing his faith. He often told anyone who would listen just how richly God had blessed his life.

His faith was especially evident during one of the greatest trials of his life—when he lovingly and faithfully cared for his late wife, Angela King Casey, through her battle with cancer. His devotion to her was a true reflection of the depth of his love and the strength of his faith.

Mr. John lived a life that showed how trials and tribulations can shape a person into the Christian they are meant to be. His prayer ministry, "God's Grace Not Race," was something he was deeply proud of. Whether in a store or out in the community, he was always ready to pray with anyone God placed on his heart.

He was a dedicated member and Deacon of Furman Baptist Church, where he faithfully served the Lord and his community. His love for his church family was unwavering, and his faith guided his every step.

Mr. John is survived by his brothers, Jimmy Casey and Brian Casey; his sister, Lori Dubiel; stepdaughter, Erica McNett and husband, Eli McNett; and step-grandson, Mason McNett. He also lovingly considered Sarah Beth Mixon his adopted daughter, along with her two boys, Mixon and Thomas, who held a special place in his heart.

Mr. John's life was a true testimony of faith, love, and the beauty of God's creation. He will be dearly missed and forever remembered.

A celebration of Mr. John's life will be held on October 26, 2025, at 3:00 PM, at Furman Baptist Church in Furman, South Carolina.
