John Earl Bishop

Mr. John Earl Bishop of Poplar Street in Hampton, died Wednesday morning at his residence.

Mr. Bishop was born January 2, 1938 in Lodge, a son of the late Earl and Gladys Bishop. He had worked with Sprint Communications in the engineering department, for 42 years, and was a member of the Sandy Run Baptist Church. He enjoyed Hunting, Fishing, and working in his yard. Mr. Bishop cared for his wife for over 15 years at his home here in Hampton, and was an Air force Veteran.

Surviving are: Daughter: Lynley Bishop of Peachtree City, Georgia; Sisters: Elizabeth Shuler of Mr. Pleasant, and Louise Mixson of Greenville; Grandchildren: Courtney Bishop and Chelsea Ackerman; and a Great Granddaughter: Eleanor Ackerman. Mr. Bishop was predeceased by his wife: Jeanne Harvey Bishop, and a son: Jon Earl Bishop Jr.

Funeral services will be 2 P.M. Tuesday May 3, 2022 at the Sandy Run Baptist Church, Conducted by Rev. Dr. Tommy Kelly, with burial in the Hampton Cemetery, directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home in Hampton.

Visitation will be Tuesday beginning at 1 P.M. prior to the services at Sandy Run Baptist Church.
