John Edward Benson

John Edward Benson, 60, a native of Varnville, SC, passed away on April 21, 2025, in Norfolk, VA.

Born February 25, 1965, at Hampton General Hospital, John was the son of the late Melvin Edward Benson, and Mary Ellen Benson.

He graduated from Wade Hampton High School and USC Aiken. John displayed many artistic talents, especially with food, which many people greatly enjoyed.

Surviving are his siblings Arthur Benson (Linnett), Ruth Benson, Beth Henley (Worth), Jim Benson (Silvana), Estelle Grabert (Greg) and as well as his nieces, nephews, and great-nephews.

Private Graveside Memorial Services will be held 10 AM Saturday, July 5, 2025, in the Crocketville Cemetery near Hampton.

Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home is assisting the Benson family during this time.
