Mr. Joe Farrell Evans, 71, of Turner Expressway near Varnville, died Saturday afternoon, February 20, 2021 in the Coastal Carolina Hospital in Hardeeville.
Mr. Evans was born July 29, 1949 in Johnsonville, SC, a son of the late J.D. Evans and Julia Hanna Evans. He was a self-employed mechanical engineer and enjoyed deer and duck hunting. His family enjoyed listening to his storytelling. He also enjoyed playing guitar. He had been a member of the Lower Richland High School football team that won the State Championship in 1967.
Surviving is his wife Annette Ollis Evans of Varnville; sons Jason Evans and wife Wendy of Columbia, Jeremy Evans of Portland, Oregon and Timothy Stanley of Varnville; daughters Kellie Biddix and husband Jake of Charleston and Joy DeLoach and husband Kirk of Estill; brothers: Jim Evans and wife Becky of Pelion and Jaron Evans and wife Annette of Estill; grandchildren: Maegan Biddix, Justin Evans, Truth Evans, Michael Stanley, Ryan Biddix, Drew Biddix, Matthew Ingram, Jade Evans, Cassie DeLoach and a special grandson from birth, Hunter Carr. Mr. Evans was predeceased by his parents and his sisters Judy Singletary and her husband Johnny and Joyce Roberts and her husband Toby.
Services are incomplete at this time but will be announced at a later date by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home.
