Mr. Jimmy Jarrell, 88, a resident of Walterboro Highway near Varnville, SC, husband of the late Joan Stanley Jarrell, passed away Monday morning, June 15, 2026, at his residence.
Born June 3, 1938, in Hampton County, Mr. Jarrell was the youngest of thirteen children born to the late Martin M. and Lillie Stanley Jarrell. He worked his entire life, notably as a self-employed carpenter by trade who worked on many jobs throughout the low country throughout his career. Additionally, he was also an avid gardener who shared his crop with many over the years.
Mr. Jarrell was the husband of the late Joan Stanley Jarrell, who passed away in 2014. He and Joan were married October 20, 1961, in Hampton County by Probate Judge E.P. Ellis and celebrated 52 years of marriage before his beloved Joan’s passing. Many will remember their love for dancing – especially the “Shag” which they excelled at.
Mr. Jarrell was an active member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Hampton County since March 6, 1996, and served as a Ministerial Servant in the congregation. Many will remember him as a devoted worker, husband, friend, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Surviving is his daughter, Karen Capobianco (Fred); his sons, Mark Jarrell (Crystal) and David Jarrell (Melanie); his only granddaughter who he treated as a “Princess”, Anna Jarrell, and one beloved great-grandson, Colson Causey, who he loved unconditionally.
In addition to his parents and his wife of over 52 years, Joan, Mr. Jarrell was predeceased by 9 brothers and 3 sisters.
Funeral Services will be 2 PM Friday, June 19, 2026, in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses located at 6985 Pocotaligo Road, Hampton, SC 29924.
Visitation will begin at 1 PM and last until the hour of the service in the Kingdom Hall.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that those who wish send memorials to the Commission for the Blind.
Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home is assisting the Jarrell family during this time.
