Jim Brian Breland

Mr. Jim Brian Breland, 58, of Brandy Lane near Nixville, died unexpectedly early Monday morning, April 13, 2020  from injuries received during the tornado.

Mr. Breland was born May 19, 1961 in Jasper County, a son of Byrtie and Shirley Davis Simmons.  He had worked 30 years at Wiggins Concrete Company in Estill and was presently the Supervisor.  He was a member of Mt. Carmel Methodist Church and enjoyed hunting and fishing.  Mr. Breland was married to Donna Marie Ginn Breland.

Surviving are his daughter:  Ashley B. Lerch of Nixville; grandchildren:  Jeremy Brian Lerch, Allison Nicole Lerch and Brayden Johnson Lerch; a brother:  Raymond Breland of Varnville;  his mother: Shirley Simmons of Varnville; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.  Mr. Breland was predeceased by his father: Byrtie Breland; brothers:  B.J. Breland and Marcus Breland; sister:  Patricia Arlene Mixson; and his step-mother:  Lois Breland.  His beloved wife Donna and daughter Kayla Arlene also died that morning in the tornado.

In consideration of the state and national emergency that currently exists with the coronavirus pandemic, and with the health and well-being of their friends and community in mind, funeral services will be held privately.  Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
