Mrs. Jewel Inez Nettles Kinard of Co-Op Road in Hampton, died Friday morning in the Orangeburg Regional Medical Center after an extended illness.
Mrs. Kinard was born in Colleton County February 9, 1937, a daughter of the late Charles Douglas Nettles and Louise Craven Nettles. She had retired from Westinghouse Corporation in Hampton and had worked with the Salvation Army for many years. She had attended West End Baptist Church in Hampton.
Surviving are: son: Larry Donald Kinard and wife Ronda of Cope; daughter: Linda Louise Kinard of Hampton; sisters: Alene Strickland of Charleston, Marie Baker and husband Roger of Cottageville, and Miriam Newton of Houston, Texas; brothers: Lewis Hughes and wife Yvonne of Bonnie Doone near Charleston, and Mendell Nettles and wife Cheryl of Charleston; grandchildren: Emily K. Darby of Cordova, Lindsay Kinard of Cordova; three great-grandchildren; nephew: Neil Nettles and wife Cindy; and niece: Lynn N. Albright. Mrs. Kinard was predeceased by: her husband: Jarvis Mac Kinard; brothers: Eddie and Marshall Nettles; sister: Lois Hughes; and a granddaughter: Heather Marie Kinard.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday in the Chapel of Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. Roger Smoak with burial in the Johnson-St. Paul Cemetery in Hampton.
Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 7 PM at the Funeral Home located at 300 Mulberry Street West in Hampton.
