Mr. Jesse Holbrook Crapse, Sr. of Tutens Pond Road near Fairfax, passed away Thursday night, September 21, 2023, at the Pruitt Health Nursing Home in Aiken, after an extended illness.
Mr. Crapse was born June 24, 1942, in Furman, a son of the late Holbrook Crapse and Vera Inez Smith Crapse. He had served in the Air Force as a Master Chief Cook from 1964 to 1970. He also, served as a Foreman with the Sewing Factory in Estill; was a member of the Nixville Baptist Church, and enjoyed dog hunting and fishing.
Surviving are: Sons: Jesse Holbrook Crapse, Jr. and wife Trudy of Walterboro, Kevin Gregory Crapse of Elizabeth Town, Indiana; Daughter: Tina Marie Hayden and husband Jay of Fairfax. There are several Grands, Great Grands, and Great Great Grandchildren. Mr. Crapse was predeceased by Brothers: Marvin Crapse, Roy Crapse; Sisters: Lucille Bowers and Vera Hiott, along with Daughter-in-law: Opal Crapse.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M., Saturday, September 30, in the Chapel of Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. Bobby Ethridge, with burial in the Nixville Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Chapel of Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home, located at 300 Mulberry Street West, Hampton.
