Jeanne Harvey Bishop

Mrs. Jeanne Harvey Bishop, 83, of Poplar Street in Hampton died early Saturday morning at her residence after an extended illness.

Mrs. Bishop was born July 28, 1935 in Hampton County, a daughter of the late Charles A. and Agnes Cook Harvey.  She was a bookkeeper with Western Auto in Hampton for many years and was a member of the Sandy Run Baptist Church.

Surviving are:  her husband: Jon Earl Bishop of Hampton; daughter: Lynley Jeanne Bishop of Atlanta; sisters:  Betty H. Thomas of Hampton and Jackie H. Livingston of Porta Richie, Florida;  and two granddaughters: Courtney Bishop of Beaufort and Chelsea Ackerman of Ridgeland.  Mrs. Bishop was predeceased by:  son:  Jon Earl Bishop, Jr.; brothers:  Charles, Ed and Jimmy Harvey; and sisters:  Gwendolyn Smith and Barbara McMillan.

Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Monday in the Sandy Run Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Paul Reid with burial in the Hampton Cemetery, directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home of Hampton.

Visitation will be Monday beginning at 1:30 PM at the church prior to services.
