Jeanette Mason

Mrs. Jeanette Funchess Mason, 90, of Hampton, died early Wednesday morning, March 6, 2019, in the Methodist Oaks Home in Orangeburg.

Mrs. Mason was born June 6, 1928 in Rowesville, a daughter of the late John David Funchess and Merle Inabinet Funchess.  She was a graduate of Winthrop College, and had taught school in Hampton for several years.  She was a member of the Hampton United Methodist Church and was the widow of Cecil E. Mason.

Surviving are daughter: Claire M. Freeman and husband Edward of Rowesville; son:  Edward Mason of Orangeburg;  grandchildren:  Mason Freeman of Raleigh, NC, Anna Claire Freeman Butler of Greer;  and one great-grandson.  There are several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2:30 P.M. Friday in the Chapel of Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home located at 300 Mulberry Street West in Hampton with burial in the Hampton Cemetery conducted by Rev. Tyler Strange.  Visitation will begin at 1:30 P.M. prior to the services at the Funeral Home.
