Janice Heape Sheffield

Mrs. Janice Maxine Heape Sheffield, 66, of Varnville, died early Sunday morning, November 29, 2020 in the Pruitt Health Care Facility in Walterboro.

Mrs. Sheffield was born February 13, 1954 in Hampton County, a daughter of the late James Cortland Heape and Betty Rae Mixson Heape of Cummings.  She was a Tax Preparer and had been the Receptionist for John Floren, D.M.V. in Rock Hill for over 15 years.  She had also served as the church pianist for Grace Baptist Church.  Mrs. Sheffield loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving besides her mother of Cummings are her son:  Johnny Wade Sheffield and wife Cathy of Brunson; daughters:  Kimberly S. Webster of Walterboro and Heather S. Ayers and husband Ken of Hampton; sisters:  Gail Stone of Varnville, Angela Omes of Early Branch and Renee' Stanley of Varnville; 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and her fiancé; Don Sheffield of Newington, Georgia.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Thursday, December 3, 2020 in the Spirit of Life Church in Varnville conducted by Rev. David Schaffer with burial in the Zahler Cemetery directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Thursday morning beginning at 10 AM at the Church prior to services.
