Mr. Jamie E. Sanders, 84, of Altman Road near Hampton died Friday evening at his residence.

Mr. Sanders was born February 1, 1934 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, a son of the late John Samuel Sanders and Eva Goodwin Sanders Johnson.  He was a retired truck driver and served in the National Guard and the Air Force.  He was a member of Higher Ground Christian Church but had attended Varnville First Baptist Church.  His hobbies included working on lawn mowers and deer hunting.  He was a member of the G.W. Tuten and Polk Hunting Club.

Surviving are:  his wife:  Lois Elkins Sanders of Hampton;  daughter:  Lynn Sanders of Hampton;  and many brothers and sisters-in-law.  He was predeceased by:  two sons:  Sandy and Lee Sanders;  and a brother:  Samuel Sanders, Jr.

Funeral services will be 11 A.M.  Monday in the Chapel of Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home conducted by Rev. Dr. Tommy Kelly with burial in the Johnson St. Paul Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday from 4 to 6 P.M. at the Funeral Home located at 300 Mulberry Street West in Hampton.

The family suggests that those who wish may send memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Shriner's Hospital for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.
