James Ronald Mixson

Mr. James Ronald Mixson of North Main Street in Brunson died Wednesday morning at his residence.

Mr. Mixson was born in Hampton County January 31, 1951, a son of the late Otis Elmer Mixson and Muriel "Merle" Bishop Mixson.  He had retired from Westinghouse Corporation in Hampton after 35 years of service as a Treater Operator and had served in the Hampton National Guard Unit for 28 years.  He was a member of the Hickory Grove Baptist Church.

Surviving are:  his wife:  Linda Jones Mixson of Brunson;  daughters:  Sonya Dempsey of Yemassee and Tonya Hayden and husband Aaron of Lilburn, Georgia;  brothers:  Donald Randolph Mixson and wife Cindy of Georgetown and Marlon Arnold Mixson and wife Sara Ann of Brunson;  son-in-law:  Donald Evans; and grandchildren:  Joshua Evans and wife Fallon and Chasity Evans.  There are 8 great-grandchildren.  Mr. Mixson was predeceased by a daughter, Amanda Evans.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, September 18th in the Chapel of Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home in Hampton with burial at 2:00 PM in the Beaufort National Cemetery with Military Honors.

Visitation will be Tuesday morning at 9:00 AM prior to the services at the Funeral Home located at 300 Mulberry Street West in Hampton.
