James Nettles

Mr. James Howell Nettles, 59, of Scotia Furman Highway in the Scotia community, died Sunday evening, August 22, 2021 in the Hampton Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Nettles was born March 24, 1962 in Hampton County, a son of the late James Oliver "Pete" Nettles and Ada Elizabeth "Beth" Tuten Nettles.  He had worked as a painter with Philips Composite Materials in Estill and was a member of Furman Baptist Church.  He enjoyed playing and coaching church softball, spending time with his grandchildren and his dog "Sugar" and going hunting.

Surviving is his wife, Mylinda DuBois Nettles; children, James "Tony" (Beth) Nettles and Amanda (John) Nettles; grandchildren, Ava Barnette, Morgan Cook and Jordon Cook; sister, Sandra Nettles; special aunt, Wilma Lovelace; and many other nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be 10 AM Friday, August 27, 2021, in Furman Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Brian Toney with burial in Lebanon Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 7 PM at Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home located at 300 Mulberry Street West in Hampton.
