Mr. James Allen Lomax, 83, resident of Wellmore of Daniel Island, former resident of Hampton, SC, died Monday night, July 22, 2024, at Wellmore of Daniel Island.
Born June 09, 1941, in Mansfield, Ohio, Mr. Lomax was the son of the late Roger William Lomax and Elsie Marie France Lomax. Mr. Lomax proudly served his country as an Air Traffic Controller in the United States Marine Corps. from Feb. 1960-April 1964. On October 6, 1990, James married his loving wife, Barbara Lomax. Together, Barbara & James owned and ran the Frederick Fitting House Bed & Breakfast in Bellville, OH. They retired to Shepherd, MT, followed by their move to Hampton, SC. He retired as a Salesman from Gorman-Rupp Pumps. In addition to a strong love he had for his family, Mr. Lomax will be remembered for his enjoyment of watching Westerns and Nascar, bird watching, wood-working, hunting, fishing, and watching football.
Predeceased in his death are his wife of 32 years, Barbara E. Lomax nee. Garber; his parents, Roger Willam Lomax and Elsie Marie France Lomax; his sister-in-law, Judith L. Mielke nee. Garber, and his brother, Richard E. Lomax.
Mr. Lomax is survived by his brother, William (Diana) Lomax of New York; sister-in-law Marilyn Gunn nee. Garber of Ohio; Melissa (Joe) Speelman of Ohio; Rebecca (Jon) Dugan of Illinois; Michael (Lori) Lomax of Ohio; John (Darcy) McClenahan of Montana; Jeannie (Ken) Milota of South Carolina; 17 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.
Memorial Services will be held at a later date and announced by the family.
Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home is assisting the Lomax family during this time.
