Iva Lee Gooding

Mrs. Iva Lee Terry Gooding, 91, of the Pond Town community near Brunson, died Wednesday morning, January 1, 2020, at her residence after an extended illness.

Mrs. Gooding was born May 17, 1928 in Hampton County, a daughter of the late Ulis and Maude Bowers Terry.  She had retired from Westinghouse Corporation in the tubing department and was a member of Brunson Baptist Church.  Mrs. Gooding enjoyed gardening, working outdoors, camping, going to the beach and spending time with family and friends.

Surviving are her sisters:  Sarah Bowers of Brunson, Betty Wall of Allendale, Evelyn "Clem" Sullivan of Fairfax, Daisy Ann Croft and Linda Roberts of Brunson; and a number of nieces and nephews.  Mrs. Gooding was predeceased by her husband Robert Nelse Gooding; sister:  Josephine Simmons; and brothers:  Ulis "Buddy" Terry and Joe "Jody" Terry.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Saturday in the chapel of Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home with burial in the Bowers Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 7 PM at Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home, located at 300 Mulberry Street West in Hampton.
