Irene Grubbs Padgett

Ms. Irene Grubbs Padgett formerly of CoOp Road in Hampton, S.C., passed away February 21st, 2023 at Bayview Nursing Home in Beaufort, S.C. after an extended illness.
She was born in Barnwell County on January 6th, 1930 to Frank and Sallie Gilliam Grubbs. She was a homemaker and had worked as a seamstress for many years before having to quit because of her vision. She was married to the late Raymond Padgett.
Ms. Padgett is predeceased by her children:  Earl Padgett and Laura Padgett Manning; her siblings:  Junior Grubbs, Franklin Grubbs, Jake Grubbs, Charles Grubbs, Rose Sanders, Annie Lou Kinard, and Elizabeth "Lib" Sanders.
Surviving are one step-son:  Raymond Padgett Jr. of Colorado; one granddaughter:  Teresa Tuten (Richard) of Nixville; and three great-grandchildren:  Erik, Rachel, and Leah Tuten; and One Great-great grandson:  Carter Mills.
Graveside services will be 4P.M. Saturday in the Johnson-St. Paul Cemetery in Hampton, conducted by Rev. Tommy Kelly , and directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home.
Visitation will be immediately following the services at the cemetery.
