Idell Prince Harriott

Mrs. Alma Idell Prince Brunson Harriott, 87, resident of Gillson Branch Road in Pineland, formerly of Scotia, died Tuesday, October 22, 2024, in the Ridgeland Nursing Center.

Born January 6, 1937, in Hampton County, Mrs. Harriott was the daughter of the late Bratton Prince and Alma Noonan Prince. She attended Estill High School. Mrs. Harriott worked many years in the grocery business in Scotia and later as the owner of Harriott's Grocery in Luray. Upon her retirement from the grocery business, she worked many years at Lester's Bar-Be-Que near Estill. Mrs. Harriott was also an avid gardener who loved to work with flowers.

She was a member of Scotia Baptist Church.

Surviving are her sons:  Danny Brunson and his wife Gail of Scotia and Michael Harriott of Scotia; her daughter:  Judy Rivers and her husband Don of Nixville; her brother:  Sollie Prince and his wife Betty of Hampton; her sister:  Katherine Lyons of Varnville; her grandchildren: Bonnie Lee and her husband Randy, Alan Brunson and his wife Cassie, Kurt Rivers and his wife Odessa, Mandy Leseueur and her husband Noel, and Dusty Harriott. There are also 13 great-grandchildren who survive.

Mrs. Harriott is predeceased by first husband, Charles F. "Charlie" Brunson, Jr.; her second husband, Wallace Gilbert Harriott, and a brother, Johnny Prince and his wife Mary.

Graveside Services will be 2 PM Friday, October 25, 2024, in the Lebanon Cemetery near Scotia conducted by Pastor Brian Toney.

A visitation will be held from 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM, Friday, October 25, 2024, at Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home in Hampton, prior to services in the cemetery.

The family would like to send a special thank you to the caregivers, Lavern, Ann, Louise, and Kev, who cared for Mrs. Harriott, as well as the staff of the Ridgeland Nursing Center and Jeremy with Cardinal Hospice, who cared for her during her final days.
