Homer Warren

Mr. Homer Murray Warren, 95, of Crooked Creek Road in Hampton, died Monday morning, January 4, 2021 in the Hampton Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Warren was born September 28, 1925 in Tillman, a son of the late Henry R. Warren and Ottie Padgett Warren.  He had retired as a supervisor from Westinghouse Corporation in Hampton, was an Army Veteran of World War II and participated in the Battle of the Bulge.  His Unit was one of the first to participate in the Liberation of a Nazi Prison Camp.  He had been an active member of Hampton First Baptist Church where he had participated in all the church activities, including teaching Sunday School, was honored as Deacon Emeritus and the oldest member of the church.

Surviving is his daughter:  Glynis W. Ragan and husband Avery of New Orleans; daughter-in-law:  Janice Warren of Hampton; grandchildren:  Kelli Franklin and husband Brian of California, Trey Ragan and wife Sarah of New Orleans, Drew DeLoach of Furman, Brian DeLoach and wife Hannah of Estill;  one great-grandchild:  Aidan Franklin; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Mr. Warren was predeceased by his parents; his wife: Barbara Sanders Warren; son: Don Warren; brothers:  Virgil, Henry, Bernard, Calvin and Mac Warren; and one sister:  Ruby.

Graveside services will be 11 AM Thursday, January 7, 2021 in the Hampton Cemetery conducted by Rev. Emerson Wiles and directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home of Hampton.
