Hollis Campbell

Mr. Charles Hollis Campbell passed away Friday, February 16, 2024 at the Summerville Community Hospice House.  He was 85.

Hollis was born in Hampton November 4, 1938 a son of the late Charles and Marguerite Sauls Campbell.  He graduated from Wade Hampton High School in 1957.  He attended Newberry College, and then went to work tor BOSCH in North Charleston as a Senior Mechanical Engineer.  He spent his entire career working for the company, and on several occasions, traveled to Germany to oversee projects at their headquarters. He served in the Hampton Unit of the South Carolina Army National Guard, and was known as an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing.  Hollis was a proud member of the Jenny's Hunting Club, and cherished the memories he made with his fellow members over the many years.  He especially loved the barbeques and fellowship at the clubhouse

Hollis is survived by his sister, Eleanor C. Russell of Moncks Corner, and by three special nephews, Chip Russell (Tracy), Tim Russell (Molly) and Rick Russell (Susana).  There is a host of great nieces and great nephews as well as other extended family.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Alice and Carol Campbell.

Services will be held Saturday morning, March 2, 2024 at 11:00 in the chapel of Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home, 300 Mulberry Street in Hampton, with burial following in the Hampton Cemetery.  The family will receive friends following the committal.  Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home of Hampton is in charge of arrangements.
