Henry E. Crosby

Mr. Henry Edward Crosby, 81, resident of Ehrhardt, formerly of Allendale, passed away Monday, May 25, 2026, at The Oaks Post Acute in Orangeburg, after an extended illness.

Born July 8, 1945, in Hampton County, Mr. Crosby was the son of the late James Hansford Crosby and Julia Catherine Stanley Crosby. He retired after many years of working in motel management in the Town of Allendale, where he was a longtime resident. He also served a short period in the Army National Guard. Mr. Crosby enjoyed racing and kept to himself most of his life.

He was a member of Brunson Baptist Church.

Mr. Crosby was predeceased by his special friend of many years, Louise Ponds.

He is survived by his close friends, Jay, Nell, and Gordon Walling, all of Ehrhardt, SC, and many other friends and cousins.

Graveside Services will be 3 PM Wednesday, May 27, 2026, in the Rivers Cemetery near Brunson.

A special thanks is extended to Sanctuary Hospice, in memory of Louise Ponds for the care and respect shown to Louise during her illness in 2013, and to Gentiva Hospice for the care and respect shown to Henry during his recent illness.
